The first ever post on MATV, and what better way to start than with a banging five star review of THIS(tm) bacon.
This, pardon the pun, is the best fake bacon on the market at the moment, and there is one simple reason for this: It tastes like bacon, or at least it’s the closest I’ve found. Reviews of others will follow in the coming weeks, but if you’re looking for a vegetarian/vegan bacon substitute, this is it.
The above image is taken from the THIS website, and is an image of the cooked product. Looks great, but I’ve never been able to quite get it to look like that. In reality, it’s darker, more purple, and looks a bit like tuna slices when fresh out of the packet.
On cooking, it pinks up a bit but it’s never looked like the above image, as you can see from the below picture.
